Griffin's new word and pajama races

Griffin learned to say "Go!" this weekend! You can see it here. We're playing with our makeshift race track.

Memorial Day

Our neighborhood had a Memorial Day parade. Griffin enjoyed his friends, Abby and Ava, and the neighbor's rabbit. In a stroller. Yes, I said a rabbit. In a stroller.

Ft. Worth Botanic Gardens

We went to the beautiful Ft. Worth Botanic Gardens on Thursday. Griffin's friend, Savannah, took tons of photos of him. She's a budding photographer for sure!

My summer project

I'm hosting a life group at my house next fall so I'm using that as my motivation to finish the house this summer. I finally got around to hanging the family photos by the wonderful Leonard Ortiz in my breakfast nook. I always have a hard time hanging groups of pictures without them looking crooked so I tried the "tape the frames on paper, trace and measure" method. It worked perfectly!
Here's a pic of the coffee table from Pottery Barn. Luckily I found it on the JC Penney website for $129! I only needed one since I have a small sectional.

Here's the living room. So far I've ordered an upholstered chair, bought a coffee table (see above) and picked out a rug. The old coffee table will go upstairs in the loft and become a project table for Griffin. I'm thinking about refinishing the top of the console table to a distressed black. The orangy pine just doesn't work. I wish I had a photo of the chair but the manufacturer's website doesn't show their full line. It's small and tailored but a little curvy. We picked out a nubby striped fabric with reds, golds and greens. I can't wait to see it! It's going to be so pretty. 6-8 weeks til delivery!

I picked out the Henley rug from Pottery Barn in bronze. Luckily I had some AmEx rewards points that I cashed out for Pottery Barn gift cards! Yay! The rug's very simple but the rug under the dining room table is floral and very busy. Pairing it with a simple rug is the way to go, I think.

Anyway, this is my summer project so far!
